Dr R. William G. Watson, Conway Institute, National University of Ireland, Dublin

Dr Watson received his degree in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry, University College Cork in 1995. He then went on to study for his doctorate in the Department of Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He then undertook post-doctoral research in University of Toronto and the Toronto General Hospital in Canada, before returning  to Ireland in 1997,as a College Lecturer/Director Surgical Research Laboratory in the Department of Surgery, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, University College Dublin. Dr Watson is a council member of the Irish Association for Cancer Research and Section editor of the Scientific Discovery section of the BJU Int. Dr Watson is a Principal Investigator in the Dublin Molecular Medicine Centre and Lead co-ordinator of the Cancer Biology Group in the Conway Institute. His research interests his are in the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which prostate cancer epithelial cell die, and  diagnostic tools and therapeutic targets.
