On Get the Girls Day, here's a video and our Get the Girls radio ad

It's Get the Girls Day! Here's the radio ad and a short video explaining the Get the Girls campaign

The Irish Cancer Society's Get the Girls campaign begins today. Here's a short video explaining the campaign, as well as the radio ad.

The month-long Get the Girls campaign, kindly supported by Centra, kicks off today (Friday, October 5th) with Get the Girls Day, when hundreds of people across the country are selling ribbons and pins in towns and cities. You can get involved in Get the Girls this October by visiting www.getthegirls.ie and registering your event. There are plenty of ways to get involved such as Get the Girls running with a fun run, Get the Girls grooming with a pamper night, Get the Girls singing with a karaoke night, Get the Girls knitting with a craft day, Get the Girls retro with an eighties night – there are lots of ways to make a difference. Last year volunteers across the country raised a fantastic €730,000 and this year the Irish Cancer Society is hoping to raise even more money for people who are affected by breast cancer. Latest data shows that 2,671 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in 2010. It is estimated that women have a 1 in 10 chance of developing breast cancer during their lifetime. Here's the radio ad you may be hearing on the airwaves: listen to ‘Irish Cancer Society "Get the Girls" radio ad’ on Audioboo
