The Great BT Charity Shops Challenge Day is here!

Today (Thursday, October 3rd) marks the first ever all island Great BT Charity Shops Challenge Day to benefit the Irish Cancer Society and Marie Curie Cancer Care. 170 BT staff are in charity shops all over Ireland getting stuck in helping the Irish Cancer Society in the Republic and Marie Curie Care in Northern Ireland.

For over a month now the BT teams have been assigned to a local branch of the charity shops and have been putting their retail, planning, marketing and selling skills to good use collecting extra stock, and promoting their shop locally all with a view to attracting more customers into stores today, to avail of a great bargain and support these great charities.

Some of the great ideas, organised by BT staff, happening in store today include:

  • Stylists Marietta Doran and Tanya Grimson dishing out fashion advice and styling on the day
  • A signing with Fair City Star Geoff Minogue
  • The chance to buy some really special items including:
  • A dress donated by MTV’s Laura Whitmore
  • A signed, framed Dublin jersey
  • A print from street artist JMK
  • A Chloé dress
  • New, tagged clothes from Fashion City (including Ted Baker and Fran and Jane)
  • Rachel Gilbert dresses donated from the Ivory Closet (designer dress shop)
  • Electronics including ipod and ipad accessories

Paul Hughes, Irish Cancer Society Shops manager, said: “We encourage everyone to call into one of our shops today. You are guaranteed a great bargain. BT has been an incredible partner to date and we are happy to be to joining with them and offering our customers an extra special day of shopping. If you have never visited one of our shops before we hope that you will come in today and have your first taste of feel-good fashion!”
