Karen's Shave or Dye challenge
When her niece lost her hair during chemotherapy treatment, Karen did a Shave or Dye challenge to show her support and to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. Karen set up a JustGiving page with a €500 target and smashed that target, raising €1,968 so far!
“My 7-year-old niece was recently diagnosed with leukaemia and I wanted to support her and the Irish Cancer Society. Since my neice's diagnosis, I realise the fantastic work that the Irish Cancer Society do by providing free care, support and information to cancer patients and their families, while funding research into the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer.
"I didn't tell anyone about my head shave beforehand as I was afraid they would talk me out of it, so I waited until after the event to ask for sponsorship. I'm very humbled by everyone's generosity in these difficult times."
