Adam Houlihan

Congratulations and thanks to Adam Houlihan!

At 14 years of age, Adam Houlihan from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford cycled 50km in the Sean Kelly Tour on Sunday, 29th August and raised a staggering €875 in memory of his mother Bernie who passed away from breast cancer in early August 2010. The Irish Cancer Society would like to thank Adam and his supporters for this outstanding contribution and wish his family much success in the future.

Walk for the cure

Siúlóid Leighis / Walk for the Cure 2010 on Mount Brandon

The ninth Siúlóid Leighis/Walk for the Cure will take place on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 on Mount Brandon, County Kerry. To date the event has raised over € 234,000 in aid of the Irish Cancer Society’s cancer research programme.

"At Five In The Afternoon" - a concert reading

At 8pm on Wednesday, 29th September, “At Five in the Afternoon – A Concert Reading” will be given in the National Concert Hall by Michael Murphy and his friends, Eileen Dunne (RTE), Eamonn Lawlor (Lyric FM) and Emer O’Kelly (Sunday Independent). The J.S. Bach music from the book will be sung by the Goethe Institut Choir, accompanied by the Orchestra of St. Cecilia, under the direction of John Dexter. This Concert Reading will benefit the Irish Cancer Society.

Pink Ribbon Walks launched

Pippa O’Connor and Bryan Dobson launch the 2010 Pink Ribbon Walks in aid of Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society, as organisers hope to establish national Pink Ribbon Walk Day. The Kells Pink Ribbon Walk takes place on Saturday, September 11th, 2010.
