Referrals and Post op

Looking for some advice. My consultant wanted an mri due to me wanting to be referred. The wait was around a month with me calling twice a week. I got it yesterday but it has stalled everything. Surprisingly, in a good way, the nurse rang me today to say they haven't got a report yet. She then let me know that if the consultant will not refer me, based on the mri, they have provisionally booked the surgery. I said I would then like the surgeon in Dublin to do the reconstruction still and do a full masectomy. She seemed surprised by this and said we can discuss that and wait for your results. Has anyone had implant surgery with shona tormey in UL and how does it look compared to your other breast. I have multiple reasons to wanting to be referred and it does include aesthetics. If they do refuse I would really appreciate some info on anyone who has had a single masectomy with Dr shona tormey. I also wonder can you feel it a lot or does it settle?

Sinister Breast Lumps

Last reply: 01 November 2024 10:42
Hi All, Following a mammogram, US , MRI and 3 biopsies last week, I am currently waiting now on results. The consultant said that 2 lumps were sinister and one hopefully benign. Has anyone been told the same and the lumps turned out benign?

Worrying symptoms!?

Last reply: 29 October 2024 11:07
Hi. I have been experiencing a lot of worrying symptoms lately and would like some advice. My periods have been very irregular (spotting and lasting over a week), I have been bleeding during and after sex with some pain and large clots, I have no appetite and feel full after eating a small amount, my belly is very large, swollen and hard and looks like I'm pregnant, I have localised pain in my left abdomen, back and pelvic area, I feel tired all the time but find it difficult to sleep, no energy, I feel dizzy a lot and have blind spots and blurred vision sometimes, I have a pain in the back of my neck, I have a new cough that has lasted over 8 weeks, difficulty breathing, tight feeling in my chest, pain in my stomach when I cough. I have an appointment with my GP in a few days to discuss these symptoms but I'm wondering are these symptoms very serious and need urgent emergency attention? If anyone could offer me some advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Love and blessings to all.

Nano knife and TAS

Last reply: 29 October 2024 11:22
Hi, my husband just got diagnosed with Gleason 7 prostate cancer, and recommended RARP in Beaumont- I am very worried of the surgery's side effects, and nano knife sounds like a great alternative. It seems to be available in London as well as Germany, Italy, Switzerland. Has anyone tried to get this covered under the Treatment Abroad Scheme?

Pancreatic Cancer, Folfirinox

Last reply: 16 October 2024 09:40
My story is that I had no symptoms, went to my amazing doctor with a cough, she found that I was tender on my lower left back so sent me to a walk in ultrasound clinic where they discovered the tumour. I had a whipple in April, the cancer had not spread as caught early so my prognosis is good. I know it’s a rare cancer, has anyone else had a whipple and going through Folfirinox, I’m about to have round 8 of 12..

Hi everyone. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to have a mamogram in the Galway clinic. My doctor thinks it may not be. The website is a bit confusing information wise. Thank you
