Hi Duffy1984,

Thank you for posting on Ask a Nurse.

I am sorry to read that your dad is undergoing treatment for lung cancer.

Your dad’s symptoms of sore throat and an increased amount of phlegm do need to be reviewed by his doctor. You should contact the oncology unit where he is being treated to let them know how your dad is.

If you would like to discuss this with one of the cancer nurses on the Support Line please call 1800 200 700, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Kind regards,

Cancer Nurse
