Hi, I’m due to get a single mastectomy and reconstruction at same time. As a single girl, who wants to meet someone in the future, is very sporty, loves clothes, I am struggling massively with this prospect and the delay in getting symmetry in opposite breast (but of course am aware that i am very privileged to hopefully have caught it in time. Does anyone have any experience of this

Looking for some advice. My consultant wanted an mri due to me wanting to be referred. The wait was around a month with me calling twice a week. I got it yesterday but it has stalled everything. Surprisingly, in a good way, the nurse rang me today to say they haven't got a report yet. She then let me know that if the consultant will not refer me, based on the mri, they have provisionally booked the surgery. I said I would then like the surgeon in Dublin to do the reconstruction still and do a full masectomy. She seemed surprised by this and said we can discuss that and wait for your results. Has anyone had implant surgery with shona tormey in UL and how does it look compared to your other breast. I have multiple reasons to wanting to be referred and it does include aesthetics. If they do refuse I would really appreciate some info on anyone who has had a single masectomy with Dr shona tormey. I also wonder can you feel it a lot or does it settle?

Hi All, Following a mammogram, US , MRI and 3 biopsies last week, I am currently waiting now on results. The consultant said that 2 lumps were sinister and one hopefully benign. Has anyone been told the same and the lumps turned out benign?

I had to have a full mastectomy 2 years ago, and I ended up waiting nearly 18 months before seeing the plastic surgeon about reconstruction even though I asked to be referred before I left the hospital after my initial surgery. I was told I wouldn’t be a good candidate for an implant so they suggested the diep flap, which I’m on the list for. I was told the wait time would be 3-6 months and I can’t get an update from anyone as to where I am on the list or how much longer it might be. I’m in St James Hospital. How long have other people had to wait for surgery? Or does anyone know who would be best to talk to? I’m finding it harder and harder to cope with as time goes on, I’m crying every day and struggling to sleep.

Hello, My Mom was recently diagnosed with Luminal B breast cancer. She is in Poland, so very little support from health service there. The cancer is now widely spread to her lungs, lymphnodes and bones. I have two questions, I hope you don't mind. 1. Do me and my sisters and daughter need to be tested for BRCA? 2. Any advice on how to guide my children through this? I've been back and forth between Poland and Ireland and they are finding it quite difficult with Mummy gone and really worried about their grandma too. Any advice would be appreciated Thank you

Hi I'm having surgery lumpectomy next week and can't find a support bra for after surgery. Where can I get one and does it have to be a larger size. Does hse supply them. It's 4 days to my surgery and was only told on Thursday. Thanks Siobhan

Him I was diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer 2 years ago and have just been informed it is back and has now metastasised in my hip. I am 44 and my partner is expecting our first baby in a few weeks. I would love to hear from anybody living with mets and how they cope day to day with the diagnosis. Currently my body is not responding well to ribociclib, my liver in particular, and I am waiting to see if I can start on a lower dose after my next blood tests. Does anybody know what the next form of treatment would be if I cannot take ribociclib?

Hi all just wondering if anyone started getting pain in their good breast ? Little back ground ,fist time diagnosed in 2011 ,local recurrance 2021 ,finished all chemo treatment jan 23 . Since then have been diagnosed with having had a TIA (not related and years ago ) and then diagnosed with cardiac issues (seeing cardiologist next week) I’m on 6 month Ct scans with oncology and all so far is clear . But I’ve noticed I’m getting annoying pain in the same area of my good breast that comes and goes in bouts in exactly the same spot and is getting more noticeable . If I press in the area it’s sore and I can feel lumpy tissue . I have breast clinic appt in September so am thinking just wait and see but am also getting a little anxious . Would it be stress from all other issues going on ? Am I just being overly anxious ? Thanks for reading . Xx

Got a breast cancer diagnosis a few weeks ago. One breast involved and one lymph node. Some family history of breast and ovarian cancer but not enough to be put forward for genetic screening. My gut is telling me I need and want a double mastectomy. Medical are dead set on a lumpectomy. Fighting them on this is actually causing more stress than anything. I've read all the papers about lumpectomy + rads having similar outcomes. But my gut is still screaming at me that it won't be enough in my case. Did anyone here get a double mastectomy under similar circumstance and if so where did you get it done?
