can I put fake tan onlymphdema arm
Hi. Just wondering if anyone has used fake tan on an arm that is effected by lymphdema. This may sound like a silly question buti0 i dont know who to ask. Thanks
Hi Sunflower,
It might be safest to put this question to one of the nurses where you were treated just to be sure or to ask whoever is treating the lymphedema, especially if the skin is damaged in any way.
I don't have lymphedema but I am very careful about what I put on my surgery side arm. I did ask about using insect repellents and was told for example that it is a lot safer to use chemical insect repellents directly on my skin than get bitten by a mosquito. However I got two mozzie bites on that arm last year and came to no harm.
Check if fake tan is safe - if it is something you really want to do, but seriously we Irish ladies have lovely skin. All it needs is some protection from the elements. Nothing wrong with white skin
I love your name. There are whole hill sides covered in sunflowers here in France at this time of the year. Breathtaking!
Enjoy your Summer Sunflower!

Thanks ladies for ur replies. I am going to a wedding soon and i have bought a sleeveless dress. I wear a garment so one arm is white and the other is a bit browner looking. I am not a fan of fake tan but this is a special occasion and just wanted to look or feel normal! Thanks again for your help. Sunlower
Hi. Well wedding is long gone and I did put on the fake tan and arm is ok. Thanks for replys.
Hi all
I just noticed on TV3 the other day, author Emma Hannigan who has had breast cancer and is currently on treatment, was advertising an organic brand of tanning lotion that's apparently safe for us to use. I don't know anything about it but it might be worth investigating.
I also saw her another day showing nice post mastectomy bras from M and S. I went and got one set, which was only 22 euro for two. I'm sure at that price they won't last as long as the usual ones but they are nice and pretty and also matching briefs if want. It's just nice to be able to walk in to a lingerie dept and pick of the shelf, like we used to!

No experience personally but my neighbour has lymphdema and occasionally uses fake tan. She was sprayed at a salon recently for an event.
