cancer care centres
sorry i seem to have lots of questions at the moment.
the closest cancer care centre to me seems to be the gary kelly centre in drogheda. I know there is one beside the mater but i have heard its dreadful for parking
is it worth the 30 mins drive to it.
What kind of stuff have u done in ur local cancer centre
thanks and apologies for all the questions

Hi Marie,
I can't help you regarding the Mater and the Drogheda cancer centres as I don't live in the area, but I promise, you do not have to apologize for asking questions. The only question for which no one can help you is the "why me" question, for which there is probably no answer.
Ask as many questions as you like. The answers are helpful to us all!

Thanks Kathleen.. I try to not ask myself that question and just get on with dealing with it...
I think I will drive to the Gary kelly centre next week.
Have heard lots of excellent reports about Gary Kelly centre from ladies i met along this journey. If it is the one nearest you then go for it, you can always jump ship to ARC near mater!
I have never actually visited any of these centres. I managed to establish my own little network of BC pals who helped me thru the journey at the time. I would have also attended the Irish Cancer Soc BC conference a few times over the years which is also excellent.

Hi Marie, just sent you a pm. But if your heading into the Gary Kelly Centre you can let me know if you like and I can meet up with you for a cuppa there if it helps.
Hi
I recently went to a local cancer support centre, I first saw a councillor which was brilliant because she was able to put everything into perspective for me. I would strongly advise anyone to do this it was very helpful. Last week I got some reflexology done which was so relaxing I felt so chilled out. So you should definitely go to one.
