Hi Neadi,
I am also due for a tissue expander implant after my bilateral mastectomy. I am still in my 20's and last Christmas I was sitting on a beach in Australia in a bikini, so I suppose I am also looking for information from anyone who has had this op, will I be able to wear a bikini ever again??? Hi Anita!
It's mad isn't it?? On sept 16th I ran 10k for breast cancer- I found a lump on sept 17, and the rest they say is history.... I'm 37 so I can appreciate exactly where you are coming from!! Hopefully we'll get some info here soon and know exactly what's in store.

Thus time next year (hopefully) I'll be getting a diep flap reconstruction, but until then......it's expander time!!

I'd say hang onto those bikinis!!! Image removed.

I like to make people laugh it's good for the immune system. I think at my age I'll stick to the bathing costume/swimsuit!!! Image removed.

I had the op March 2011 and have just got back from a week in the sun where I wore a bikini and im 50 years old went with my 83 year old mum(shes finished with Bikinis Image removed. )I am now due to have expander changed for a permanent implant but will wait until after christmas, I have had no problems whatsoever, and with a bra or Bikini no one can tell I fell really confident.I had imediate reconstruction and have never looked back.I am even back on the Racehorses on the Gallops Image removed. That is so good to know!! Thank you so much for replying!
Best of luck with the implant- am hoping for a diep reconstruction down the line, but with the SNB being positive last week the immediate option is out the window Image removed.

Very nervous about the whole road to be travelled but it has to be done.....glad to know you were happy with that option

Thanks
