Hi Mary,

Sorry to hear your partner is having such a tough time. I visit several cancer websites and talk to people from all over. Yes, there are people living several years with secondaries. In general, people seem to do much better nowadays than several years ago. Treatment has come a long way.

Where was her original primary? Where is she having her radiotherapy? And what chemo are they proposing for the liver mets?

Regards,

Flo.

I'll have a look for you and see if I can find a good support site for people living with secondaries.

Hi again Mary,

I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you both at the moment. I can understand her decision to decline further chemo. It can be so tough on your body and if she feels she would not really see the benefit of putting herself through it all again, then its hard to argue its case. Are you finding it tough dealing with her decision on this? I think I would find it very frustrating to watch someone I love make a choice like that and not be able to DO something.

Here's a few websites that may be of help. This forum is great but there is not a huge amount of activity. The most active ones are US ones which is not helpful in some ways BUT it still gives the benefit of advice and support from others in the same boat. If your partner is not interested, then you personally might still gain something from one. I'm a big fan of having someone to talk to about everything, but everyone is different.

Some of these are just information, much of which you prob know already but I stuck them in anyway. Others are forums that you can register for.

Regards,

Flo.
