Still checking in
Hello, just to say a year on and I still check in on this website with totally admiration for patients, their families & nursing staff. The cancer journey is a very difficult one & I think of all the Irish people on this journey, people I do not know but people that I understand how it is for them. Take care everyone.
Dear Mikaelf
I am sorry to see that you have not had a reply yet. You and your wife are going through a difficult time and if you would like to phone us here on our Nurseline at 1800 200 700 we could discuss with you the different support available.
Also, your wife might like to speak to our volunteer who had lung cancer. Although he had NSCLC , she might still find it helpful to talk to him.
Wishing you both our best wishes.
Thanks!
My wife passed away peacefully this evening. Many thanks to the palliative home care team form Milford Hospice in Limerick.

This is my first "visit" to the Community pages on cancer.ie. My wife was recently diagnosed with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and we're both trying to learn and understand the journey ahead. She had her first chemo as inpatient this last weekend. So far, so good - no adverse side effects yet.
I guess we're lucky as I can work from home a few days per week, but she's very worried to be home alone the days I have to be at work.
