Hi there,

I am due to have lipomodelling next week to improve the contour and match of my newly reconstructed breasts. As I understand it the surgeon will take fat by liposuction from one area and inject it back into my new breasts. This is a day procedure. I am just wondering what I can expect in terms of pain and recovery afterwards.

Hi Karen

I had diep reconstruction in May of 2012(perky pam was 2 yesterday!!!)and have had lipo modelling twice since.forst time was in the September after surgery and it was fairly painful, but in fairness the fat was taken from my sides and belly which were still healing.it was done again in the May when I had the good side lifted it wasn't as bad.you will be bruised and tender for few days to week and will ease out.i still drove and was up and about as normal.i will be doing it again later this year as unfortunately the fat seems to like sitting on my waist but not my boob!!!!

Hope this helps

Hi Wilmaone,

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it as I cope better when i go into things knowing something about possible outcome, and there's not too much on this subject from patient perspective! Will let you know how I get on. I am hoping fat will stay put as most of my body fat was on my boobs before.
