Last reply: 15 December 2019 10:29

Hi everyone ,
I have just joined today , I had biopsy of left breast on Monday and radiologist said 2.5cm worrying shape mass, I met the nurse who said most likely cancer, I will be getting my official biopsy results then, I havnt told my family yet, I am 55 and my daughter is back to work next week after maternity leave , it’s a tough time for her, my sons graduation next week , and he has had a tough time lately.
My head is all over the place and I feel like screaming and running for the hills , but trying to appear really calm.
I am due to work tomorrow and Friday , I work in a hospital , not sure what to do. Sorry for the rambling text , I am not a whiner , just trying to make sense if all of this , any help much appreciated xx

Hi, I know how tough the waiting is, honestly I’ve found that the hardest part. I had to wait 12 days for my biopsy results and honestly once I got my diagnosis I almost felt relieved. I’m not a patience person! But they don’t know just by looking on the day, not for certain. Know that you’re not alone. X

Hi ccpt
Thank you so much for your kind reply , it means so much .
Hopefully I will find out on Monday , the waiting is horrendous , especially when I havnt told my grown up children yet.
Very hard to pretend everything is ok , my sons birthday on Monday and graduation on Tuesday so I don’t want to spoil that for him . I am worried over my daughter going back to work next week , terrible to feel that you are letting everyone down by getting sick , which I know sounds daft.
Thanks again for your kind reply , I hope you are doing well and adjusting to all the changes .
Wishing you all the very best x

Hi. I'm looking for some advice. I was pregnant when I found a lump in my breast. Passed it off due to pregnancy. 8 months later wen it didn't go got sent to symptomatic clinic on seeing the consultant she seemed happy that it was a normal lump but said as I'm 35 she would do mammogram and ultrasound. They found a lump behind the lump that I could feel and asked to do a biopsy. They took biopsy from lump and armpit. After biopsy i seen consultant again and she told me about the other lump they found and that it will have to be removed regardless of results. Now waiting for results. Im convinced that I have cancer. Now looking like I won't have results until 2020. Waiting is horrible. Anyone have experience like this?
