can anyone recommend a skin repair cream?

Hi all,

recovering nicely from my lipomodelling, but a bit concerned. I did not get quite the match I was looking for between the two new boobs, and given they are so small (A/B cup at most) it is quite important to me. I asked the surgeon about having another fill later in the year when everything has healed as I read this is possible, but he said he may not be able to as the skin has lost its elasticity due to radiotherapy and won't stretch any more. Has anyone else had this problem can anyone recommend a cream I can use to help repair the damaged skin? I have been using aqueous BP to moisturise for the last 2 years and I thought the skin was supple.

I had radiotherapy also, along with surgery. I use plain old coconut oil that you buy in your local supermarket. I find it absorbs lovely into the skin......I also have arm lymphoedema so I have to take great care of my skin.

Don't know of any product for targeting elasticity. In my own experience, I had my first surgery, then another (a debridement procedure) and then another 3rd surgery to replace an implant that was badly effected by radiotherapy. I feel every time they have to close up the area it does effect the skin. I lost some valuable "extra" skin during the debridement also.

My advice would be to ring a breast care nurse you may have had dealings with during your surgery and ask her advice. Everyone is different but get as much info as you can. Best of luck.

Oh and by the way, my breasts don't match at all unfortunately. There is a difference but with a good bra and prosthetic I have stood in front of doctors who didn't realise I'd had a mastectomy.
