Cording

Last reply: 27 May 2022 20:51

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. After my lumpectomy I developed cording in my armpit, going down past my elbow. I got physiotherapy for it, and it was as good as gone. I am doing my exercises every day. But now it's actually back again. The therapist signed me off last week, saying my range of movement is great. I told her then that it felt like the cording is coming back, but she just said to continue with exercises.
Has anyone else experienced that? I thought, or hoped, once it's gone its gone.

Hi there, my cording’s been an ongoing thing. It was really bad as I could barely lift my arm and struggled to extend my hand forward. I exercise everyday and massage it, well have my arm and armpit massaged. I stretch stretch and stretch some more. It’s the only thing that helps but I’ve been absolutely sticking to it everyday because if I don’t it gets worse. Now I have full movement. It helped a lot to stand with my arm straight and try to lift it with my fingers either turned up or down and repeat it about 20 times. Initially I did it about 10 a day. Now only doing it twice a day. Hope this will help you

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am still doing my exercises every day too. I have full movement, but I feel the pulling pain in my arm and see the cording under my arm. I'll try your lifting exercise, thanks again
