Found a lump, now what?

Last reply: 03 May 2019 11:25

Hi all, I found a lump last night in my left breast, what now, just wait to see gp on Monday? Is there anything else I can do? Feeling so flustered, I haven't told my husband cause I don't want to freak him out.

Dear kildaregirl, thank you for your post, women often feel distressed and worried when finding a breast lump, we always recommend to visit your GP which you have scheduled, from there they may send you to a symptomatic breast clinic for further tests such as a mammogram, 9 out of 10 breast lumps are benign but the doctors have to be sure. It can be very difficult to speak with family about what your experiencing but it may help how you are feeling, If you would like to speak with a nurse or need any support or advice our number is 1800 200 700

kind regards
