Hi Deema,

My main advice is BE CAREFUL! It can be a bit unpredictable and I know someone who tried for brown but ended up pinky-purple.

I was told to wait 6 months. And I did, but it was very tough though. What I found out afterwards is that the grey seems to grow faster which is why I was so grey initially. but after time, the natural brown hairs started to make an appearance and eventually take over. Now I am brown again but with silver strands. I have yet to put a colour back in.

Do you have a good hairdresser? Maybe go in and talk to them beforehand, ask them to look into it for you and give you advice on what chemicals are safer to use, etc.

Regards,
Flo.

Hi Deema,
like flo my hair started to come back quite grey and the best colour i found was Daniel Field Colours............. saw it in a health shop and it
had not peroxide or amonia........ which is what we need to avoid.
I didn't like the range of colours in the shop so i googled ''daniel field'' and got it online from an online store in Wicklow.
It was fab and really easy to put on myself.

............. however, i noticed that i didnt have re-growth and realised that my natural hair was coming back chocolate brown !!! Not a grey in sight !!!! .............. However, check out Daniel Field colours

lots of the so called ''healthy colours'' in shops contain either peroxide or amonia.............and they still say they are ''natural''

Daniel field colours have neither and are fab........... you could even get it and ask your hairdresser to apply it.......

google it - lots of online in ireland selling it !!

Natural Skincare Products - daniel field hair colours
Daniel Fields Hair Colours lasts as long as you require! - Applied to clean, bone dry hair its permanent and covers up to 100% grey. ...

Hi Everyone,

I am almost 13 weeks post chemo and I dyed my hair yesterday. My hair wasn't rearlly grey - it was more clear or even see through in parts. I used L'oreal Casting Creme Gloss. It's only a wash in - lasts 28 washes and is ammonia free. I'd used it pre chemo so I just took a chance again and it turned out fine.

I read somewhere that the hair pigment doesn't always come back in sync with hair growth - hence the inital grey sprouts. Now all I need is my hair to grow a bit more so I can lose this "prisoner of war" look I have going on.

Regards,

Karen

Hi Deema,

I finished in Feb last year and went withough wig in May. Loved having hair but didnt like the muddy brown with grey colour so wanted asap to get back to blonde I have always known myself to be so I went straight in there & dyed straight away I didnt care what anyone said - after all the toxins I figured a bit of hair dye isnt going to harm me a that stage. I've been using Naturtint lightest blonde (10n) for about 6 mths, its really nice in fact far nicer than any of my other colours ever, only fault is it wears away after a few weeks but its veg dye and so instead of dying ev. 5 wks like I used to I do it ev. 4 myself. its about 14eu I think but seriously well worth it. (my hair is now getting to a nice length - i can gather some to a small pony in back (like a shaving brush) and when I straighten it its almost like a bob (only shorter layers in it). Good luck, its a great feeling to start feeling normal again XXX
