Is it always an in person meeting for results?

Hi there, my mother has an appointment for Friday for results of a biopsy taking after calcifications found on routine mammogram. The clinic just called to move her appointment forward 2 hours.
If the news was good would they have just told her over the phone or do they always bring you back in for a face to face regardless of the results?
