Private Triple assessment
Hi all,
Has anyone been for a private triple assessment and then went back to the public clinic afterwards?
South east area but would fly to the moon…
Also how much would it cost in total including seeing consultant for results etc
I am 59 days waiting publicly on an urgent mammogram and ultrasound.
I have been told there’s no available dates on the system yet and I will be informed when there is.
I don’t feel I will be able to relax unless I have a biopsy. after going through this journey with my own mother who was told scans were good and nothing concerning but had a biopsy same day to be sure.
It’s a stressful time.

When I first found a lump three years ago I got my GP to refer me privately for assessment, mind you I had private health insurance through work. My first appointment was in Whitfield which cost me about €130. The rest of my appointments were through the public system as my consultant mainly works out of UWH, he only works out of Whitfield once a week.

I finally have an appointment for my scans on the 20th.. it’s such a late in the evening appointment aswell so I doubt I will leave with any answers and the wait will continue to be called back again.
Glad to hear that you finally have an appointment. They tend not to give you any answers at these scans anyway no matter what time of the day you have them. Hopefully you won't be waiting too long for the results.

When a referral is sent to a breast clinic it is triaged by one of the team. When triaging they will take into account the signs and symptoms you presented with, how long you have had them and any relevant medical history. Your waiting time will depend on how your referral was triaged. It may be helpful to call the clinic again and ask approximately how long you will be waiting.
There are private hospitals who provide triple assessments, costs could differ a bit between hospitals. This is something that the individual hospital would have to confirm with you.
