Tamoxifen and taste issues

My sympathies, I had an horrendous time and it was the carboplatin. I'm not on tamoxifen so sorry can't help you there. It was the one thing I found hardest to deal with

I did too with the carboplatin couldnt eat anything for at least 10 days after each treatment.Its not a side effect of tamoxifen but its the only thing i can think of.Also not sleeping to great at moment which could be related to tamox.
How are you mary have you recovered from last chemo?Are you all set for monday?

Oh it's horrible I was the same and you've finished it awhile so it shouldn't be still there. Someone will answer you I'm sure or he'll tell you in the hospital . I'm good starting to taste again and have more energy than last week. I'm all set for Monday will be glad when it's done

snap, & was putting it down to residue of treatment, have the same, taste goes...mouth feels different...food doesn't taste right. Apart from taste am having trouble with my throat, constant inflammation, have had my neck scanned & stomach scoped & it's nothing sinister, thank God. They say it's an acid tummy causing the problem. I've never felt any reflux, am now on 2 tummy tablets, started 2nd one two weeks ago but have not noticed any improvement. Not sure whether it's tamox or post treatment issue. Never had any tummy issues before having BC.

Thanks for reply i feel a bit easier now that its not all in my runaway mind!!!Cant quite put a name to taste but its just not right and food isnt either thought id left all that behind me.Poor you on tummy trouble cant say that ive been too bad in that area,but am in next week for mri as am in constant pain with lower back(did have a back prob pre bc)posibly down to tamox too the joys.
How are you going on recovery from diep?Are you happy with it?I saw plastic surgeon yesterday will be having good side lifted and filler in new one,had this done in september but it didnt work.Am very happy with it overall though.
Did they check for hernia as this can happen with diep?A friend of mine had treatment for thyroid cancer and suffered terribly with tummy for 2 years finally discovered it was hernia.

Hi ladies with tummy problems,

Just to share something I found to help with tummy problems - stewed apple. And if you stew eating apples you won't have to add much sugar.

I do a big batch of stewed apple at a time and freeze it in tubs. Lovely on porridge or as a desert. Or if you want to make apple crumble in a hurry ...

This was a tummy hint I found in a magazine and it worked really well for me and a friend. Worth trying.

For the record I don't have long term taste problems, but I didn't have carboplatin.

Hi, yes my tastes have changed, I now love smelly cheeses and brussel sprouts. And I used to love potatoes but not anymore.
