When did u dye ur hair first after chemo.
I finished chemo at the end of June. I would really love to dye my hair for Christmas . I have used the vegetable oil based but just not mad keen on the colour and would prefer to just go to the hairdresser. How soon did yours coloured.
Ya my usual hairdresser wasn't at all keen on doing it when I called in today. I know roches in kimmage do the colour. Are u still going to the hairdresser still. My hair is so grey. It's really annoying me now. It's also startin to curl.
I'm still going to the hairdressers where I got my wig as they understand the 'growing back' thing. I've had it dyed and mesh highlights loads of times since March. I only lasted a week with grey hair. It was bad enough having hot flushes and needing glasses to read without going around with grey hair!! It'd be support tights next lol. Where do you live? I can give you number of where I got it done, near dun laoghaire. They're great there. Oh the curls you'll have to endure I was like Michael Jackson but it's calming down now. My hair had been topic of conversation for some time. Think my husband is getting sick of it!!
Hi Superwhy!
My own opinion is the 6 months timeframe for dying hair after chemotherapy is more precautionary than anything else; with it being so close to Christmas sure wiggle room of a week or two could be allowed? I was off to the hairdresser like a shot the minute my 6 months were up; my grey hair was just manky & it was pissing me off more than having no hair!!!!
Best wishes & take care x
I got colour in after around 4 months I think in local hairdresseers it was a new product a non-amonia range - it went great. Go for it
I couldn't do grey hair. I finished on 31st December and my hair had grown by 17th march and I got it coloured on 22nd march in the hairdressers where I got my wig and have been getting it coloured ever since. Just ask the hairdressers for a non ammonia dye. I looked it up and it's all to do with the type of hair that grows back more coarse and different texture. Don't think it has anything to do with cancer .
