White blood cell counts
Quick question. Am meant to be going in for TAC 3 tomorrow. Had my blood test today was told that one part of my White blood count ( neut something or other) was a bit on the high side (could be due to neulasta shot) and another part of it was meant to be at 1 and is at .7. She said oncology would have been on to me if there was a problem, but now I'm afraid tomorrow won't go ahead. Not that I want to be poisoned but I just want to get this over with!! Has this ever happened to you guys and ye went ahead??
I'm all psyched up and ready for it now.... And I feel fine- only a continually runny nose that didn't clear fully after round 1. Anyway gotta remain hopeful that things will work out ok.
I was the same and had end date etched in my mind but as my husband said its only a week and not to be fretting over a delay of a week. Fingers crossed and prayers said, your bloods will be ok tomorrow. Let us know. Xxx
But the delay of a week means a crap day on my birthday!!! Ah well!! Gotta stay positive!!!!
I was 50 a few days after chemo, on my crap day but I promised I'd celebrate it ten times over in 2013. Sometimes it works out better but don't despair you may still get your chemo tomorrow
God!! Did you think we'd ever see the day-wanting chemo??????
It's gas I said the very same thing but we just want to get rid of it
I had one session delayed by a week because they weren't happy with my cell count. I was so dissappointed at the time, but it was only a week delay and it's so important they get the treatment right. If you feel crap after chemo when your cell count is good, just imagine how you might feel if they gave it when your count was poor!
By the way I got my initial diagnosis 2 days before my 49th Birthday, and my husband had unknowingly bought me Emma Hannigans "Pink Ladies Club" as a birthday present (little did he know how appropriate it would be )

Oh did you but you're right they know what they're doing. When we look back on it in years to come a week here or there won't matter.
It's funny but I think more people get breast cancer in their late 40's.
I'll never forget my 50th but I still had my hair which was something I suppose
My bloods were ok all the way through thankfully. I asked them about this, that as I got my bloods taken on the Friday before the Monday would they notify me if they weren't going to give me chemo and she said no, that they would take bloods again on the Monday when I went in for the chemo as things can change even in a short time so your bloods may be ok tomorrow but if they don't give you chemo they'll only put it off for a week. That happened to me when I got the vomiting bug. I was like you wanted to have it so I could notch another one off.
