Biopsy

Last reply: 27 May 2021 15:42

Hi,
I had a biopsy 10 days ago. I’m due back for results this coming Friday. I’m completely freaking out. My breast is very tender after the biopsy and last night I had blood from my nipple. It’s the longest two weeks of my life.

Hi km2013

The waiting for results to come back is very hard, in fact I found it harder than finding out that I had Breast Cancer. I wouldn't worry too much about the tenderness in your breast, that is more than likely because of the biopsy. Do tell them about the blood from the nipple when you go back for your results or maybe you could give your doctor a ring and they might be able to set your mind at rest. Try to keep yourself as busy as possible doing the things that you love doing.

Wishing you the best of luck for Friday.

Best wishes
Jenni

Hi,

I'd think it's normal to be tender after biopsy. Maybe ring your GP about the blood rather than waiting until Friday. If it's an infection best to deal with it now.

I hope you get the all clear

Thank you both for your reply’s. I’m still just in shock. Wasn’t expecting to have a biopsy at all and what they found wasn’t even what I went in with. I have three very young kids so my mind is running away with me. Will
Keep as busy as possible. Thank you both x

Hi there,

I really feel for you. It is a very worrying time. I was just diagnosed with breast cancer on May 10th but like Jenni the waiting for the results was much harder than the actual results. I found it very hard to sleep and my mind was imaging all sorts of things. It was actually a big relief when they said it was "manageable". As long as there is a road you can travel on, they get you on it really quickly. I really hope you get the all clear, but if you don't there is so much they can do these days. Try not to worry and enjoy the madness of having 3 kids.
The very best of luck,
O

Thank you and I’m sorry to hear of your diagnosis but you seem to be taking it as well as you could. I wish you the very best during your treatment. X
