Awaiting Biopsy - saw lump on ultrasound
In an awful.panic went for my triple assessment this morning and it was not as clear-cut as I would like - the professor who did the physical examination deemed the lump to be an E3, which is likely to be benign but not definitely so.
I was buoyed up by that, but I felt the ultrasound was less optimistic . I asked the consultant radiologist if the mass was oval or round, and he just stated, "No" and felt there was an atmosphere in the room.I took a look at the screen at the mass and got a fright as it is an irregular shape, and has all the hallmarks / attributes of malignant masses that i saw in academic articles that i looked up.
Biopsy taken - I need to call next Tuesday for the date of when I receive results. As you can imagine, this has brought up lots of feelings - regret at perhaps not having children (risk factor) , amount of work and stress I took on over years as I was very career focused - it's been very hard.
I haven't slept in over 10 days and given I am prone to depression and anxiety - I am worried about my ability to cope.
Going to my doctor tomorrow to ask for sleeping tablets etc as at this point I need sleep
