Breast clinic appointment
Hello, I am 45 yr old female and recently found a lump in my breast and went straight to my GP who sent a referral to the Breast Clinic in St. James. I'm finding it difficult to think about anything also and feeling very stressed. Just wondering if anyone can give me an indication of the wait times for an appointment. Many thanks.
Hello,
I know the feeling very well. I found a lump 20th Dec, because of the holidays it took til 13th of Jan. I went to letterkenny breast clinic. I know the waiting is the hardest. Try to stay positive, don't worry about something you don't know for sure yet. I hope you'll get your appointment soon and all will be well.
Hello, I waited 6 weeks to get into St Vincent’s public
6 Weeks is a long time! Have you had any results yet? Hope you are doing OK.
Dear No1mom
Thank you for posting on our online community.
It is certainly a very anxious time waiting to be seen. All GP referrals are assessed by one of the consultants team and in accordance with national guidelines, the referral is then categorised as urgent or routine. The assessment is made based on the symptoms and examination findings described by your GP. Urgent referrals are seen approximately 2 weeks after being triaged/assessed.
If you would like to phone our support line and speak to a cancer nurse about this and about how you are coping with the waiting we are here Mon- Fri 9-5pm at 1800 200 700 and would very much like to support you at this time.
Kind regards
Cancer Nurse.
