Join Team Irish Cancer Society for the 2024 Tokyo Marathon taking place on Sunday, 3rd March 2024 , and show your support for cancer patients and their families across Ireland, as well as funding life-saving cancer research.
Take on one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors whilst helping to raise vital funds for cancer support and research in Ireland. Places for Tokyo are extremely limited and highly sought after each year. Because of this, available packages from Sports Travel International are not guaranteed. You can register your interest in Tokyo packages through the link below, if places do become available from Sports Travel International we will email you to provide further information.
There are two ways you can register to be part of Team Irish Cancer Society at the Tokyo Marathon. If you have already secured your race entry through the Boston Marathon ballot, simply email cdunne@irishcancer.ie to register with us and we will provide you with everything you need to get your fundraising started.
If you do not have your own place, you can register your interest in gaining guaranteed entry through packages run by Sports Travel International and then choose to fundraise towards the cost as well as a minimum donation. Alternatively, you could choose to self-fund the package and simply raise as much as you can without a fundraising target. Frequently asked questions
How can I secure guaranteed entry?
If you have not managed to secure entry through the ballot, you can get guaranteed entry through travel packages run by Sports Travel International. To find out more about package options available for this year please visit the Sports Travel International website here.
Can I fundraise to cover the cost of my package?
Yes! You have two options when it comes to fundraising. You can choose to cover the cost of the package yourself and pay Sports Travel International directly. In this case, there is no minimum fundraising target so you can set your own. Alternatively, you can pay your package deposit to secure your spot and fundraise for the balance of the package, as well as the minimum fundraising target.
What is the minimum fundraising target?
We ask for a fundraising commitment of €1,200 for the Tokyo Marathon to help support Irish Cancer Society services and research. For example, if your chosen package costs €1,500 we would ask that you raise a total of €2,700
What if I have secured my own place?
If you have secured your own place, all you have to do is email cdunne@irishcancer.ie to register and become part of team Irish Cancer Society.
What will I receive when I run for the Irish Cancer Society?
Once registered you will receive a Team Irish Cancer Society running singlet, fundraising pack and access to online resources as well as support from the Fundraising Team to help maximise your fundraising and keep you up to date with the difference you are making.
