Ballyfree Eggs Donates €14k to the Irish Cancer Society’s Action Breast Cancer

John Mohan and Gerard Caufield Directors of Greenfield Foods Smithboro Co Monaghan, presented a cheque for €14,000 to the Irish Cancer Society last Thusday, February 13th 2014.  The money was raised following a Ballyfee Eggs pink pack promotion,  in Tesco, Dunnes and Super Valu stores where 5c for every special pink pack sold was donated to the Society’s Action Breast Cancer programme. “We are delighted to have been involved with this campaign” said John Mohan MD of Greenfield Foods. “The Ballyfree egg brand is all about family, Irish tradition and supporting local farm communities. Since most families in Ireland have unfortunately been affected or know someone affected by cancer in some way, this was a really good fit for us, and also allowed us to give something back to the community”.  Speaking at the cheque handover the Society’s Corporate Partnership Manager Emma Barrett said “We are delighted with the support from Ballyfree Eggs - €14,000 is a huge contribution and will make a significant difference to many people affected by breast cancer who can avail of our information and support services. Not only has Ballyfree’s support raised a substantial sum for the Society – the partnership has been a great fit as eggs are a healthy part of a balanced diet and by consumers choosing a special pink pack they were able to support a good cause while making a healthy choice.”
