Dell employees lead the charge in Limerick to raise funds for Movember

"Mo Mile" in Raheen Business Park will ensure local businesses show their support this Movember

The employees at Dell’s Limerick Campus today announced their plans to host the ‘Mo Mile’ in Raheen Business Park on Friday 30th November to support this year’s Movember campaign. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in Ireland and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer.  Dell employees are supporting the campaign by growing their moustaches but are also coordinating the ‘Mo Mile’ in Raheen Business Park where their Limerick Campus is based. On Friday, November 30th at 1.30pm employees from companies within the business park will meet at Stryker 2 Carpark to take part in the ‘Mo Mile’. In addition to Dell employees, companies confirmed to attend include Analog B.V., Stryker, On-Semi Conductor, Ser Com Solutions, Blulift Ltd and SPIN South West.  Having donated over €30,000 to the Movember camp in 2011 Dell employees exceeded any other team's donation in Ireland. Over 100 employees took part in last year’s initiative and this year Dell hope to generate even more awareness around the campaign, with the additional support of all the other companies involved. Speaking about Dell’s involvement Padraig Healy, Executive Director Global Supply Chain and Site Leader, Dell Limerick said: “As a company Dell are an official supporter of the Irish Cancer Society for their Daffodil Day campaign. Each year our employees surprise us with their enthusiasm and generosity of time and monetary donations.  Outside of Daffodil Day they look to support the Irish Cancer Society’s agenda at other stages of the year. This November is a fun campaign and it’s great to have so many employees enthusiastically growing their facial hair for such a good cause. "Having achieved so much for the Movember campaign in 2011, this year we want to make a very special effort to achieve beyond last year's results and generate greater awareness around men’s health and specifically prostate cancer. The strong support from other companies within the business park around this initiative has been really positive for the campaign.”  Welcoming Dell’s plans for Movember John McCormack, Chief Executive Officer, Irish Cancer Society commented: “Dell is a great partner of the Irish Cancer Society’s and it’s a testament to the passion of their employees that sees them drive so many fundraising initiatives for us throughout the year. Movember is a great fundraising and awareness campaign and we’re delighted to hear that a ‘Mo Mile’ has been arranged by Dell in Limerick. I wish everyone the best of luck for the duration of their efforts and look forward to hearing the end results.” Follow this link for further information about the Movember Mo Mile at Raheen Business Park.
