Giving Cancer the Boot

The second Play for Paddy charity football tournament kicks off on July 4th at Dublin Indoor Football, Santry. Established in 2014, the event was set up in memory of cancer victim Paddy Delahunty. Exceeding charity donation targets for year one, Play for Paddy is back and set to become an annual fundraising family event.  All proceeds from the event will be donated to St. Francis Hospice Raheny & The Irish Cancer Society. Speaking at the launch, event organiser, Éamon Moore stated ‘We created the Play for Paddy event as we felt it was an ideal opportunity to start an event in memory of a great person who touched so many lives, even after his death. It is not only important for us to remember our friend Paddy but we want to create awareness amongst our friends, family and broader spectrum to the great work of the two charities whom were extremely beneficial to Paddy and his family – Irish Cancer Society and St. Francis Hospice’ Play for Paddy has teamed up with a host of great sponsors to ensure the day is a fun filled family event not to be missed. FM104 and Shamrock Rovers mascot, Hooperman will be cheering on the footballers whilst entertainers will be on hand for a jam packed afternoon of fun for the kids! For event information and to register a team log onto: www.playforpaddy.com For donations visit: www.mycharity.ie/event/playforpaddy2015/ For more information contact: Éamon Moore | 087 2823423
