International Clinical Trials Day

International Clinical Trials Day 2018 takes place on Sunday, May 20.

In recent years our colleagues in Cancer Trials Ireland have been at the forefront in marking this special day by bringing together key stakeholders and recognising their work and contribution to cancer research.

On Friday, May 18, it will host a national event in Dublin to recognise and celebrate all of the clinicians, researchers, support teams and most importantly patients and their families who are involved in almost 150 cancer trials around the country.

The event will also be used to launch its 2018 ‘Just Ask Your Doctor’ public information campaign supported by a number of pharmaceutical industry partners. Cancer Trials Ireland is supported by the Irish Cancer Society and the Health Research Board. For more information see cancertrials.ie.

Meanwhile, Health Research Board Clinical Research Coordination Ireland (HRB CRCI) has launched a calendar of events taking place throughout the month to celebrate the value of clinical trials.

They’ve also organised a #WhyWeDoResearch Tweetfest which will run from May 14-18 with different discussion threads scheduled – remember to use #ictd2018.

Events organised by clinical research groups will continue until May 26 at various locations in Ireland so check out the calendar for an event happening near you and show your support by attending.

Please feel free to copy and share these calendars, which can be downloaded from the HRB CRCI website.
