Please note the following opening hours over the holidays for Irish Cancer Society services:

Volunteer Driver Service

Our Volunteer Driver Service provides transport for cancer patients to and from their hospital chemotherapy treatments. Patients must be attending one of the hospitals participating in the programme. During the holidays, the Service will be operating with the following opening hours:

  • Friday, 21 December (10am - 2pm)
  • Monday, 24 December – Wednesday, 26 December: Closed
  • Thursday, 27 December – Friday, 28 December: Open (10am – 4pm)
  • Monday, 31 December: Open (10am – 4pm)
  • Tuesday, 1 January Closed
  • Wednesday, 2 January Open as normal

Night Nursing

Irish Cancer Society Night Nurses provide end of life care to cancer patients in the comfort of their homes, surrounded by their loved ones. Night Nurses will be working over the Christmas holidays including the following times:

  • Monday, 24 December: Open (9.30am – 2pm)
  • Tuesday, 25 – Wednesday, 26 December: Closed
  • Thursday, 27 – Friday, 28 December: Open (9.30am – 5pm)
  • Monday, 31 December: Open (9.30am – 5pm)
  • Tuesday, 1 January Closed
  • Wednesday, 2 January Open as normal

Cancer Nurseline

The Cancer Nurseline is staffed by trained cancer nurses to answer any questions or discuss any concerns around any aspect of cancer. The Nurseline can be accessed by calling Freephone 1800 200 700, by using our online form, or by emailing cancernurseline@irishcancer.ie. Over the holidays the Nurseline will be open the following times:

  • Monday, 24 – Wednesday, 26 December: Closed
  • Thursday, 27 – Friday, 28 December: Open (10am – 4pm)
  • Monday, 31 December: Open (10am – 4pm)
  • Tuesday, 1 January Closed
  • Wednesday, 2 January Open as normal

Daffodil Centres

Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Centres are located in hospitals across Ireland and staffed by trained cancer nurses and volunteers.

  • All Daffodil Centres are closed from close of business on 21 December 21 until 2 January.
