Irish Cancer Society "Supporting Men with Prostate Cancer" Annual Patient Conference 2012

The Irish Cancer Society will hold its third annual ‘Supporting Men with Prostate Cancer’ conference at Croke Park Conference Centre on Saturday, November 24th as part of its activity during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

This free conference is for anyone who has been affected by Prostate Cancer and is being hosted in association with Men Against Cancer (MAC) and funded by Movember, the Society’s support programme that puts prostate cancer survivors in touch with men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer. 

The conference will address the practical and emotional needs of all men with prostate cancer and those of their partners and will cover issues relating to sexuality; survivorship; incontinence; erectile dysfunction; and the psychological side effects of having prostate cancer.

Speakers include Mr. Richard Power, Consultant Urologist and Transplant Surgeon, Beaumont Hospital; Ms. Dee McKiernan, Counselling Psychologist, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Ms. Helen Forristal, Urology Nurse, St. Vincent’s Hospital.
