Join Gerry Duffy, one of the most remarkable endurance athletes in the world, for a Marathon Training Run

The Irish Cancer Society is excited to invite you to a Run4Life Marathon Training Run on Saturday, September 21st from 10am–12pm at the Irish Cancer Society Offices, 43/45 Northumberland Road, Dublin 4 - and afterwards you can chat with the man himself, extreme endurance athlete and motivational speaker Gerry Duffy.

Gerry Duffy, a one-time overweight chain-smoker, turned his life around after seeing an unflattering photo of himself and has since become the first winner of possibly the most arduous multi-day sporting event of them all.

In June 2011, Gerry and 19 other competitors went to the start line of the inaugural UK DECA Enduroman Ironman Challenge. Dubbed the "Toughest 10 Day Endurance event in the World", Gerry won the race ... by over 22 hours!

His list of notable accomplishments to date include:

  • Three Ironman Distance Triathlons (2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Cycle, 26.2 mile run)
  • One Double Ironman Triathlon (4.8 mile swim, 224 mile cycle, 52.4 mile run)
  • Ran 32 Marathons in just 32 Days in 2010 with along with Ken Whitelaw, raising over €500,000 for Irish charities in the process!
  • One DECA Ironman  (2.4 Mile Swim, 11.6 mile cycle and 26.2 mile run - every day for 10 consecutive days!)

Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity. After a morning with Gerry, this renowned author and motivational speaker, you will come away feeling inspired.

If you would like to take part in this Marathon Training Run, please RSVP to Rachel Tutty at rtutty@irishcancer.ie.
