Kilimanjaro conquered on behalf of The Irish Cancer Society. The next challenge Camino!

Last year Local Rathfarnham lady Gemma Connolly took on the challenge of her life and the might of Kilimanjaro to raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society, raising close to €7,000.

Having achieved this amazing climb Gemma has decided to continue to raise funds for this worthy cause by walking the Camino. Before she laces up her hiking boots again however, she is running a fun family day event to raise vital funds, an all-day spin-a-thon on Saturday 20th April in Allover Fitness on the Grange Road Rathfarnham. [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"1730","attributes":{"alt":"","class":"media-image","height":"480","width":"320"}}]]Damien Carey, Alloverfitness and Gemma Connolly, Irish Cancer Society  To help raise funds drop Gemma a line and book an hours spin or as many as you like! All you have to do is come along to Allover Fitness between 9am and 6pm and spin for a minimum of €25 per spin or Gemma can arrange a sponsorship card for you, see contact details below.  Gemma said, Climbing Kilimanjaro for the Irish Cancer Society last year was the toughest thing I have ever done in my life, but at the same time it was the most rewarding and life changing. On my return home I just knew I had to do more for this worthy cause. The Cancer Society are doing a 116km stretch of the Camino in June and without hesitation I signed up. On even the hardest day on Kilimanjaro I was reminded why I was there, no matter how hard the challenges we face on charity treks,  it is nothing compared to those who are facing a cancer journey, being able to physically challenge myself was a reminder of how lucky I am. By coming along to the spin you too can do your part by peddling and raising funds, you don’t have to be fit or even know how to ride a bike; we will make sure you have a great day in aid of a great cause.  [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"1731","attributes":{"alt":"","class":"media-image","height":"128","width":"224"}}]] Tune into 93.9FM Dublin South Radio on Friday at 2pm, where Gemma  will be speak about her Kilimanjaro journey, why she has decided to take on the Camino and the spin-a-thon she is organising to raise much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society, with the help of local business Alloverfitness.  For more information:Email: gconnolly@irishcancer.ie Phone: Gemma on 086 8572284www.alloverfitness.ieFind us on Facebook: Alloverfitness
