National Conference for Cancer Survivorship update
We have all the details for our free National Conference for Cancer Survivorship, which takes place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin next month.
The two-day Conference takes place on Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st and is suitable for cancer patients, survivors, family members and those working in this area on a professional or voluntary basis.
As part of the Society's 50th anniversary in 2012 we have combined all our patient events into one major survivorship conference, titled ‘Living Well with Cancer’.
There are a range of dedicated tracks and a host of speakers with a real international flavour, including Professor Tom Cotter on cancer research, award-winning author Kevin Murphy on surviving cancer after surviving cancer, Dr Keith Bellizzi on recapturing joy and finding meaning after cancer and Dr Patricia Ganz on understanding the late effects of cancer treatment.
Other speakers over the two days include Sister Stanislaus Kennedy, Prof John Crown, endurance athlete Gerry Duffy.
There is also a dedicated workshops for those working in healthcare on a professional or voluntary basis and two special sessions for the managers of affiliated cancer support services around Ireland covering the areas of data protection, public relations and social media.
The National Conference for Cancer Survivorship is free to attend.
