On Your Marks for the Irish Cancer Society

Ready. Set. Go! Today the Irish Cancer Society launches the 2015 Run4Life programme with the help of their race partner Achill Half Marathon. The Irish Cancer Society is appealing for walkers, joggers & runners to lace up and sign up for an active challenge throughout the year and help beat cancer.

Every year in Ireland over 30,000 people are diagnosed with cancer. With the help of their race partners, the Irish Cancer Society is raising money and awareness for their vital services for those affected by cancer. Whether it’s a 5k or a marathon there is a challenge to suit for everyone. Not only will you be getting fit and active by signing up with an Irish Cancer Society run but it will make a big difference for those affected by cancer in Ireland.

This year there are many exciting races to choose from with each one offering something different. You can transport yourself to the beautiful wild atlantic way, the bustling streets of New York City, through the historic metropolis of Berlin or straight to the Windy City - Chicago!

Achill Half Marathon & 10k race – set amidst breath-taking scenery with the magnificent backdrop of the Wild Atlantic Way, the course takes you past the base of Achill’s three highest mountains Croughaun, Slievemore and Minuan and provides the runners with a spectacular ever changing backdrop to their journey. Berlin Marathon - Famed for being one of the world’s greatest marathons, the course runs through the former east and west Berlin. Soak in the culture, the street art and the atmosphere of one of Europe’s favourite cities. Another bonus – the course is completely flat, so get ready to beat your personal best! Bank of America Chicago Marathon – The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the pinnacle of achievement for elite athletes and everyday runners alike. On race day, runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries will set out to accomplish a personal dream by reaching the finish line in Grant Park on the 11th of October.
