Preparations continue for Moylagh 50-mile challenge

This year’s Moylagh JFK 50-Mile Challenge, in aid of the Irish Cancer Society and LARCC (Lakelands Area Retreat & Cancer Centre), a cancer support centre based in Mullingar, Co Westmeath and affiliated to the Irish Cancer Society, will take place on Saturday, June 8th.

While the main challenge covers the full 50 miles, taking in some breath-taking scenery in Co Meath and Westmeath, participants can opt for a shorter distance if they like.

Last year the group raised in excess of €47,000 euro from the event and the organisers have high hopes for the next running of the event as they aim to increase both the number of participants and the amount of money raised.

The latest JFK 50 Mile event, which was first held in 1963 at the behest of the then US President, kicks off at Dromone, near Oldcastle in Co Meath, at 6am on Saturday, June 8th.
