Darren, from Ennis, Co.Clare, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at the age of 22 in December 2010.

The previous summer he had noticed a lump on his neck but didn’t think anything of it. However by that winter when another lump appeared on the other side of his neck, he decided to visit his GP.

He was referred for a biopsy which led to his diagnosis of stage three Hodgkins Lymphoma. This meant the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes but not yet into his blood.

He began a six month treatment of chemotherapy on Christmas Eve 2010.

In June 2010, Darren received the ‘all clear’ and while it took a while to start to feel well again, he now says he is ‘doing better than ever!’
