Ray D'Arcy Show’s Shave or Dye event smashes yet another World Record

The Ray D’Arcy Show on Today FM broke another Guinness World Record for Shave or Dye last Friday, for the Largest Gathering of Mohicans/Mohawks in one place.

The event, which took place at the Market Bar in Dublin, was broadcast live on the show for Today FM's Shave or Dye 2013.

The previous record, set by West Cheshire College in 2011, stood at 109 – but that was comfortably surpassed by the Ray D’Arcy Show’s Shave or Dye special with a massive 257 people shaved and dye in the Style Club, with participants ranging in age from 2 to 62.

Ray D’Arcy said, “I am constantly amazed by how generous people are when it comes to Today FM's Shave or Dye, with their stories, their hair and their money. It's a real privilege to be involved in Shave or Dye.”

Among the celebrities present at the Market Bar on the day were singer Bressie, broadcaster Miriam O’Callaghan and model Roz Purcell.

This year's Today FM Shave or Dye is the fourth year of the campaign, which has raised over €4.5m for the Irish Cancer Society to date, and setting new Guinness World Records has become a regular part of the Shave or Dye journey - last year a new record for most heads dyed by one hairdresser in a 24-hour period was set when Damien Bennett, senior colourist in Peter Marks, dyed 62 heads over the course of a single day.

It’s still not too late to get involved in Shave or Dye 2013. For more details visit www.todayfm.com/shaveordye.
