The Rocky Road to Poland

Friday, May 4th will see the release of ‘The Rocky Road to Poland’ – the OFFICIAL Republic of Ireland song for Euro 2012.

The track was written by Ray D’Arcy Show listeners and recorded in Windmill Lane Studios by super-group Damien Dempsey, Bressie, Danny O’Reilly (Coronas) and The Dubliners (John Sheehan, Barney McKenna, Eamonn Campbell, Patsy Watchorn).   The Irish Euro 2012 Squad and Ray D’Arcy Show listeners also feature on the track which was produced by legendary producer John Reynolds. On hearing the song, John Delaney of the FAI commented “This is going to be a massive hit with two fantastic charities on board.  Rugby has its second anthem, now we have ours.” Proceeds from the single will be split between John Giles Foundation and Today FM’s Shave or Dye which has already raised over 1.2million euro for the Irish Cancer Society.   The Rocky Road to Poland will be available 3 shops nationwide and to download from May 4th.  The song is proudly supported by 3, primary sponsors of the Irish National Football Team.  #Supportworks.  For more information contact Pete Murphy or Jacqueline Lacy at EMI on 01-2039900 or by e-mail at pete.murphy@emimusic.com or jacqueline.lacy@emimusic.com
