Video: An overview of the Irish Cancer Society's programmes

The Irish Cancer Society's mission is to eliminate cancer. This is a short video outlining our programmes across Health Promotion, Patient Support and Nursing Services.

Our Health Promotion team provide three distinct programmes that empower individuals and communities around Ireland to reduce their risk of cancer through healthy lifestyle choices.

For those affected by cancer, the Society also runs a number of Patient Support and Nursing Services. This video will also outline all those programmes.

Our programmes are as follows:

In Health Promotion, we operate the National Smokers' Quitline, the X-HALE Youth Awards and the Community Health Education Programme.

In Patient Support, our programmes are the peer-to-peer support programme Survivors Supporting Survivors, our volunteer-serviced and award-winning transport programme Care to Drive and our Affiliated Cancer Support Services throughout Ireland.

In Nursing Services, our services are the Cancer Information Service - which includes the National Cancer Helpline, our website www.cancer.ie and social media channels - our Daffodil Centres located in various hospitals nationwide, our Financial Aid programme and Night Nursing, which provides end-of-life care for patients in their own homes.
