"Supporting People with Breast Cancer" Conference

Video: The annual "Supporting People with Breast Cancer" Conference

The Irish Cancer Society hosted its annual "Supporting People with Breast Cancer" Conference at Dublin Castle last weekend. Here’s a short video from the day.

More than 170 were in attendance for a series of talks from key personnel in the morning, followed by lunch and dozens of workshops covering specific topics in the afternoon.

The speakers on the day included Dr Janice Walshe, Consultant Medical Oncologist at St Vincent’s University Hospital and Tallaght Hospital, Jane Rothwell, Consultant Breast Surgeon at St Vincent’s University Hospital, and Deirdre McDonnell, Oncology Research Nurse Co-ordinator.

For our video (below), we spoke with Reach to Recovery volunteers Gillian O’Dowd, who was chairperson for the day, and Rhona Nally, as well as the Irish Cancer Society’s Patient Services Co-ordinator Deirdre Murphy.

The next Irish Cancer Society annual patient conference, "Supporting Men with Prostate Cancer", takes place at Croke Park on Saturday, November 24th. More details on that will be announced soon.
