Voting opens to the public for European Youth Poster Competition

As part of the European Week Against Cancer (EWAC) 2013, the Irish Cancer Society along with the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) has organised a European Youth Poster Competition, open to children all over Europe between the ages of 10 and 18 - and now you can vote for the best posters

The competition aimed to get young people involved in creating posters that would highlight to other young people what they can do now to reduce their risk of cancer later in life.

It was a fantastic success with 179 entries in total from nine different countries across Europe, with entries received from Ireland, Slovenia, Romania, Malta, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Switzerland and Belgium. The prizes for this competition include iPad minis and iPod Touch’s.

The vote is now open to the public until next Friday, May 24th, with the winners to be announced at the European Week Against Cancer conference at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin on May 29th.

The posters have been shortlisted to the top five in each category - please check out all the posters by clicking the links below, and voting for your favourite.

We are asking people to judge the posters on:

  • How well the young person addressed the theme/category
  • Did the poster show creativity and originality?
  • Was their message clear?
  • Can other young people relate to it?
  • Can other countries relate to the poster and understand the message?

Thank you for taking part in the voting process. Happy voting everyone!

Note: Polls close at 12 noon on May 24th, 2013 and winners will be announced at the European Week Against Cancer Conference at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, on May 29th
