Surgery results, Galway

Last reply: 01 October 2024 15:23
Hi, I had surgery on the 17 Sep to remove either a fibrodenoma, or a phyllodes tumour from. My breast in Galway. I know the consultants meet every Thurs to discuss cases. I'm expecting an update today. Does anyone know if you always get a phone call, or do you sometimes just get a letter with your results? Should I ring them if I don't hear from them today? Thanks

Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia

Last reply: 25 September 2024 14:08
Can you please tell me what the standard treatment for atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH) is? I was diagnosed with this after a biopsy for a cluster of microcalcifications in the right breast. I have other risk factors: strong family history of breast cancer, category C density, prior biopsies, prior ovarian tumours. So I am keen to pursue the correct standard of care. I am asking here because my consultant says no treatment is necessary and I don't believe this - can you help? Thank you

Referral

Last reply: 05 September 2024 13:18
Hi there, My GP found a lump and tissue thickening and referred me urgently for a triple breast check. She said I would be seen within 2 - 3 weeks. It has been 2 weeks and I just got an appointment letter dated for October. I am nearly 50. Should I contact the clinic, wait it out or go privately although I don’t know how much that would cost. Thank you G.

Facials with a cancer diagnosis

Last reply: 14 August 2024 10:44
Hello, I was diagnosed a few years ago with NLPHL which is a rare type of lymphoma. I have had 1 lymph node removed in my neck (which is how I was diagnosed) and I am currently on watch and wait 'treatment' per se. I am hoping to have a hydrafacial soon, and one of the questions is asking if I have cancer currently, or a history of it. I am hesitant to inform the clinic of this as I don't think that my history would effect it - but is this me being negligent? If anyone can shine a light on why this information is needed for facials and massages, please do let me know. Thanks a million, CD09

Preventative ovary and tube removal

Last reply: 01 July 2024 16:56
I finished treatment for TNBC 3 years ago. My mam passed from ovarian cancer at 53. No genetic link . Last Friday I got my ovaries removed along with my fallopian tubes . I’m regretting it now as it’s Monday night and I am in awful pain. All my abdomen is sore. The scars are sore. I’m bloated. I feel like I am in labour . Feeling really down about it at the minute . Wondering if it was worth getting done. I feel I haven’t had a break from treatments / hospitals .
