Tamoxifen and taste issues

Last reply: 27 January 2013 16:14
Hi Just wondering if anyone on tamoxifen have any issues with their taste?I have noticed that every couple of weeks my taste changes and although i can eat nothing is enjoyable which is a disaster when it comes to my cup of tea!!!!I had thought it was left over side effect of chemo but am now wondering if its tamoxifen related. Thanks W

Hi guys Can't do Tamixofen because chemi has given me Clots so they are starting me on these next week. A few questions for anyone who has has these - what were the side effects and how did you deal with them. Was it better to take first thing in the morning or before bed? With or without food. Thanks guys any tips or hints gratefully Received.

Last reply: 22 January 2013 12:50
Hello all Before I was diagnosed had got lots of sore throats and lost my voice regularly. This continued through every Chemo session. Bit concerned about it but medics ignoring my concerns. Anyone else experience this at all?

Chemo fluff!!!

Last reply: 20 January 2013 21:51
Well girls got very excited this morning as I have something growing on my head!! Couldn't say it's hair but it's something. Think maybe because I had a 20% reduction in my last 2 chemos the regrowth is quicker. Happy days think it'll be a long time before I've a pony tail but I'm happy with my chemo fluff lol xxx

Oesophageal Cancer

Last reply: 27 August 2015 10:01
Hi all, have just joined the message board and have started this thread on oesophageal cancer. My husband was diagnosed a few months ago. It is a cancer which appears to be increasing in incidence, so I am sure that there are some people (patients, survivors, carers, etc.) who may wish to chat. I am happy to share our experiences thus far, and offer/receive any advice.

Feeling strange before last Taxol tomorrow

Last reply: 11 February 2013 16:58
I've been following the BC forum for the past 7 months and this is my first time to post. Tomorrow I'm due to have my last Taxol and I'm feeling kind of strange today. The chemo I had was EC x 4 and Taxol x 12. My treatment will not end tomorrow as I also have to get radiation x 28 and this will begin on 5th February. Did any of you feel strange or apprehensive before your last chemo? I can't believe I've made it this far (mastectomy and chemo) but when I think of all I've gone through the last 6 months, it's still all a bit of a nightmare. I just hope that the chemo has done it's job and that I never have to go to the oncology day ward again. Any feedback on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

6 week wait for Breast Clinic. I'm slightly freaked out!

Last reply: 27 March 2013 16:31
Hello! I've been lurking on this site for a little while now and have read a lot of your incredible stories and battles. What brave women you all are. This month has been a bit crazy, as I'm in the middle of a few different doctor assessments. One is for heart related problems I've been having, and the other is for a lump I found in my left breast about a month and a half ago. I gotta say, the heart thing hasn't been all that scary, but the lump issue has been my undoing. I'm 31 and a mother of two young children. I came across the hard lump myself about a month and half ago, but waited to see if it changed with my cycle. It didn't. So I casually mentioned it to the GP while I was having my 3 year cervical check done. They ordered blood tests for me (because of issues I'm having with my periods) and a referral for me to the Breast Clinic in Beaumont. I got the appointment today - but it's not until the 1st of March!! For the past week, I've had a lot of internal emotional highs and lows (one minute I've got myself dead and buried....the next minute "I'll be grand!") I've avoided telling anyone except my very nearest family so as not to make a big deal of it. But inside I feel a bit panicked. And I'm wondering how I'm gonna be able to push it out of my mind for another 5 weeks!! Did any of you have to wait that long? How did you manage to not go mad with the waiting game? Whatever the results are, I can deal with them. It's the not knowing that's driving me crazy!
