Shannon is an Irish Cancer Society volunteer who helps bring Daffodil Day to Waterford City each year. She has Daffodil Day in her blood, with her grandmother organising the first-ever Daffodil Day event in Waterford, and her father Des now serving as chair of the Waterford volunteer committee.
As Ireland prepares to welcome the many thousands of people fleeing the tragic events in Ukraine, the Irish Cancer Society stands ready to support vulnerable cancer patients among this community.
Being part of Daffodil Day gives all of us volunteers way more than any work we put into it. Seeing the same people come back every year, some of them for 25 years, to volunteer on Daffodil Day makes everyone realise that we are part of a great fundraising event.
We are delighted to host a virtual webinar which will take place on 26 April 2021. This event is specifically targeted towards the social, nursing and allied health research community.
Our annual national conference will take place as an in-person and online event on Saturday 18th November in the Clayton Hotel, Silver Springs, Cork.
