Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

In aid of the Irish Cancer Society

The annual Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Weekend takes place at the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery this October 10th – 12th and the star attraction will be a cooking demonstration with Chef Clodagh McKenna.

Helen Wycherley from the Celtic Ross Hotel said “I am thrilled to announce that Clodagh McKenna will be part of our weekend this year. We are looking forward to bringing many women to Rosscarbery to unwind and spend quality time together while enjoying the best of West Cork scenery, hospitality and food!"

Over the past 15 years, Clodagh McKenna has become one of the most recognized faces and brands in Ireland’s food & lifestyle sectors. She will bring her passion and enthusiasm for food to the annual Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Weekend on the 11th October 2014 to help raise much needed funds for Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.

This is the 7th year of this fantastic event where women from all over Ireland come together with their mums, daughters, sisters, friends for a much needed weekend of pampering, relaxation and lots of fun while fundraising for a charity close to many people’s hearts.

And there are more new additions to the weekend this year. Liam Sheehan Magician and Mentalist extraordinaire will entertain the ladies on the Friday night… with a difference! Thoughts will be revealed and predictions made. Throughout Saturday Ciara and her team from the Salon Shop will operate a gelish nail bar and give hair & make-up demonstrations where the ladies can get tips for the glamorous banquet that night.

The weekend will be jam packed with a host of different activities to keep all the ladies busy with Pilates, Yoga, Callanetics, Bingo, Aqua Aerobics, Health and Nutrition, Lagoon Activity Centre, guided tour of Rosscarbery, Smugglers Cove Adventure Centre and the list goes on! Of course the ladies can just laze in their PJ’s for the weekend, indulge in a treatment and watch girly movies in the Library.

Eileen Kearney, Community Fundraiser – Munster with the Irish Cancer Society says “Once again we are delighted to have the continued support of the team at the Celtic Ross Hotel. The money raised from the weekend will go directly to the Irish Cancer Society’s Action Breast Cancer Programme, Ireland’s leading provider of breast cancer information and support. Each year we reach over 25,000 women who are concerned about breast cancer and breast health. We strive to ensure that everyone affected by breast cancer receives the highest standards of treatment, support and care, and to improve the quality of life of people living with breast cancer.”

On the Saturday night the style will be out of this world for the sensational pink Champagne Banquet and Best Dressed Ladies competition! Dan Twomey, contestant on The Voice of Ireland, who has performed in places such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, New York and Vienna will woo the ladies with songs from the movies during the champagne reception. Executive Head Chef Graeme Campbell will showcase the finest of West Cork produce during the 5 course sumptuous banquet. The all-male five piece Shine The Band will provide the after dinner entertainment.

The next day before departing for home, everyone will receive a fabulous goodie bag to say Thank You for supporting the weekend.
