Irish Cancer Society Translational Research Fellowship 2022
Introduction
The Irish Cancer Society is now accepting expression of interest (EOI) submissions for the Translational Research Fellowship Programme 2022.
The objective of the Irish Cancer Society Research Fellowship Programme is to support excellent early-stage (0-5 years’ experience post-PhD) cancer researchers to develop as independent researchers. There is fellowship funding available for one applicant of the highest calibre to focus on research within areas of high strategic priority for the Irish Cancer Society. This applicant must have a background in biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences or medicine.
This fellowship is specifically intended to fund research that is aligned with the Society’s Strategy (2020-2025) and Research Roadmap. It is anticipated that the applicant will undertake a project likely within the a) translational biomedical research b) clinical trials and/or d) strategic priorities themes.
Funding
The maximum total funding available is €235,000. The funding period is 24 – 36 months, once appropriately justified. A mandatory provision of a minimum €1,000 is included within this budget to support Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) in the proposed research project. An additional mobility/capacity building funding of a maximum €5,000 will also be available.
Please note that this award can provide funding for a variety of research activities, e.g. salary, running costs, training and dissemination costs, PPI costs etc.
